A critical component of starting a business, receiving buy-in, and obtaining funding is the business plan.  A business plan is the resume for your organization - it must properly describe your business and clearly articulate your goals.  This one document must provide others with insight into your business operations and objectives.

The value of a thorough business plan cannot be over-emphasized.  Despite its importance, many entrepreneurs procrastinate when it comes to preparing the actual document.  Entrepreneurs should build a company as a contractor builds a home – a contractor would not begin construction without blueprints, nor should an entrepreneur start a business without a business plan.

The Indiana Venture Center wants to assist you in creating a strong foundation for your company – a solid business plan.  The Indiana Venture Center is experienced in reviewing and evaluating business plans and providing constructive criticism that will strengthen your business plan and organization.  When evaluating your business plan, we will ensure your plan consists of the necessary components, is understandable, and lays a strong foundation for building and growing your company.

Once we have reviewed your business plan, a course of action will be determined based on the level of assistance that is required:

  • Business Plan Evaluation Report. This report breaks your business plan into components. Each component is scored, and a justification is given. Also accompanying the report is a description of the scoring and Business Plan Components, a detailed outline of what investors are looking for in each component of your business plan.
  • Business plan development course through SmallBizU. Online courses allow you to receive quality training from the comfort of your home and/or office by utilizing the internet and learning at your own pace.
